Hermits Hockey Head Coach: Roman Ammirato '11

Coach Roman grew up in the South Jersey area and graduated from St. Augustine Prep in 2011. After high school, Coach Roman played 3 years of Junior Hockey for the Cornwall Colts and the Hawkesbury Hawks in the CCHL in Canada. He also played one season for the Amarillo Bulls in the NAHL. After Junior Hockey, Coach Roman played 2 years at Division 1 Hockey at Union College and 2 years at Division 3 Utica College. During his Senior year, he was a 1st Team All-American and led the nation in short-handed goals. After college, Coach Roman played 2 years of Professional Hockey in the ECHL for the Tulsa Oilers, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and Norfolk Admirals. He participated in the ECHL All-Star Game in 2020 as a member of the Norfolk Admirals. After professional hockey, Coach Roman moved back home to NJ and began coaching with St. Augustine Prep as the JV Head Coach for 2 seasons (2021 and 2022). This year will be Coach Roman's 4th Season as Head Coach of the St. Augustine Prep Ice Hockey Team, and is looking to add a 3rd State Title to his resume and the 4th in our program's history

Coach Chris:
Coach Chris Tommins is entering his 4th season as the Varsity Assistant Coach. Coach Chris grew up in North Jersey and graduated from William Paterson University. Prior to St. Augustine Prep, Coach Chris served as the Head Coach at Hillsborough High School from 2013 to 2021. Coach Chris is currently the General Manager at The Igloo Ice Arena in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Coach Nico:   
Coach Nico is entering his 4th season as an Assistant Coach for both the JV and Varsity Hockey Programs. Coach Nico grew up and played hockey in the South Jersey Area. He graduated from Ocean City High School. After graduation, Coach Nico played 3 seasons in the USPHL and NA3HL. 

Coach Gendron:
-Coach Jon-Michael Gendron has been deeply involved in the USA Hockey community as a player, coach, referee, and program leader. Since 1995, he has coached at multiple levels, including youth, high school, and club hockey. His leadership roles include serving as president of the Jr. Phantoms Youth Hockey Organization and head coach for several teams, most recently the Hollydell Hurricanes 15U AA. Beyond coaching, he owns American Sports and Fitness Centers and The eXcel Sports Program, focusing on conditioning and strength training. He also contributed to the Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms game-night staff, supporting operations and video analytics. This will be Coach Gendron's 4th season as the JV Head Coach at St. Augustine Prep.

Coach Doug Vladick
Coach Doug was a 2009 Graduate of St. Augustine Prep. Coach Doug grew up in South Jersey playing local youth hockey and high school hockey for St. Augustine Prep. After high school, he attended LaSalle University, where he played hockey for the Explorers. Coach Doug was also a 2 year captain of the hockey team at LaSalle. After college, Doug coached at Hollydell Ice Arena for the Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Hockey Club at various age levels. Coach Doug is entering his second season with the St. Augustine Prep Ice Hockey team, serving as an assistant for both the JV and Varsity teams.
