Michael Gunn is the Head Rugby Coach at St. Augustine Preparatory School, a nationally recognized all-boys Augustinian School in South Jersey. Since joining the program in Fall of 2023; Coach Gunn has led the team to one Fall 7s State Championship, two Spring 15s State Championships and an Augustinian Cup Victory. In his short tenure, Coach Gunn has graduated 17 students who have gone on to play rugby at the collegiate level.

Coach Gunn comes from Birmingham, England, having played rugby from an early age. He comes to St. Augustine with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Coaching and Performance, and a Postgraduate Degree in Secondary Education with a focus on Physical Education.

Coach Gunn now lives in Pine Hill, NJ, with his wife Christine, a Pine Hill native.

Hermits Rugby thrives on the grit and tradition of Goralski Field and Fr. Stephen J. LaRosa Field, where our athletes train and compete with relentless intensity. Goralski Field, the heart of our rugby program, provides a dedicated space for developing the strength, strategy, and teamwork that define the sport. For marquee matchups, the team takes the field at Fr. Stephen J. LaRosa Field, where the energy of Hermits Athletics fuels their pursuit of excellence. Whether in training or competition, Hermits Rugby continues to build a legacy of toughness, camaraderie, and respect for the game.
