College Counseling and Student Services

Freshman year focuses on St. Augustine Prep’s Unitas Program, aiming to quickly integrate students into the Prep family. Each Unitas group, consisting of 12-14 students, forms strong bonds with their advisor and each other. Students and their families are connected with a faculty member for support, with monthly meetings and ongoing availability to address transitional needs.

In sophomore year, Unitas groups continue to meet monthly, strengthening community ties. Students start exploring colleges and careers using Scoir and career assessments to understand their interests and strengths. Regular meetings with school counselors help students select electives aligned with their goals.

The College Counseling Department minimizes stress in the college selection process through effective communication among students, parents, counselors, and colleges. Key events include advisory meetings, SAT/PSAT testing, college fairs, and job shadowing.

Senior year, counselors guide students and families through the college application process, ensuring a good academic, social, and financial fit. Key activities include Common Application workshops, essay presentations, financial aid awareness, mock interviews, college fairs, and finalizing college placements.
