Hermits Host St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Ronald McDonald House of South Jersey

CAMDEN, N.J. — Living out the mission of servant leadership and brotherhood beyond campus, students from St. Augustine Prep’s Hermits Helping the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey program brought St. Patrick’s Day cheer to families at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey on Saturday, March 14.

The event welcomed families staying at the Camden facility for an afternoon of festive activities, creative crafts, and meaningful connection. Children participated in four hands-on craft stations led by our students, highlighted by the creation of their own leprechaun traps—sparking imagination and plenty of smiles throughout the day.

In addition to the crafts, families were treated to a taste of traditional Irish-inspired snacks, including Irish potatoes and a “lucky” snack mix prepared by the students. Each child also received a St. Patrick’s Day-themed fun bag to take home, extending the celebration beyond the event itself.

Through initiatives like Hermits Helping, St. Augustine Prep students continue to embody the school’s commitment to service, compassion, and community engagement—bringing joy and support to families during challenging times.
